I wish I could have big windows like this for the whole studio, but I need to control the light. Hence, no windows in the studio. (unless I can get some good blinds.)
I like this picture below"winds of change" but i don't see us using this design

***** Favorite !! If the studio has a loft, we could do this option. One floor with a little crows nest. Or this could be a good model for the home. mostly one level with a crows nest. This is how adam wants his crows nest, flush with the house and then the master bedroom set back behind with a deck.

this is a high roller green house. I wish. ours might be kinda make shift, But I still love all the pretty windows and plants inside.

******************* favorite!!! that's about the size I imagine for the studio. maybe a little smaller . This is whtat I think of when i picture the studio.
I like this idea for a studio. the wood can be grey instead. I like the geometry of the windows.
This side with all the windows could be the work area/ kitchen in the studio
I don't think we are going to use this design, but I still like it.
the kitchen can be smaller. I imagine it more rustic and low key
I don't think I'm going to have windows on both sides.
pretty windows with cool fireplace and walkway. I think we will have a small fireplace like this one
an outdoor fireplace could be cool at the side of the house, not the studio
The house and the studio don't need to look exactly alike, but we would like them to look like they belong together. I'm torn between this one and the design above with the round windows. maybe a little of both?
*************** Favorites!! this is what I mean by a bed that is set back in a cubby. I think we are planning on making the studio 1000 square feet. I'll let you know relatively how big each room should be. the painting area doesn't need to be too big, the work area and storage needs to be about twice as big as painting area. thats how I imagine the kitchen and the fire place. I like the idea of having bunk beds and a bed somewhere because the studio is also going to be used as a guest house.
****Favorites windows and shape of studio
there can be no windows in the painting area of the studio, however it would be nice to have lots of windows in the kitchen, bedroom, and work area. I imagine the studio to be narrow like this. we also need a small fireplace in the studio. maybe next to the bedroom and kitchen? every space in the studio will be used. the work area will also be a storage area for all the paintings, canvases and painting supplies. The work area will have saws, big tables for ghesso, framing area. Its going to be dusty and kinda messy so it has to be seperated some how from the kitchen with a door. I would like to have big windows in the work area to let in natural light.
good storage ideas for studio
I'm gonna have to ask the engineer to make sure the studio has really good ventilation. These windows could be a good way of getting fresh air in the studio. Our neighbor at muskrat lake says he never turns on the heat or air conditioning in the summer. We want to try and heat our house with fireplaces ( non gas)
the studio kitchen can be super small. the smaller the better. check out the light fixture
I don't know if a recessed bed or a loft would be a better option for a bed room in the studio. It will mostly be used just for guests.
We wanted a covered walkway between the studio and the house. ours could be more narrow than this one
I don't think We can have a flat roof, but I like the simplicity of this little house
We would like to have a green house in a place where the sun hit all day. we would also like it somewhere near the kitchen. Maybe next to a window so we could see out to the green house

so, I have questions on the studio. We've probably talked about it, but I need a recap. Last I remember you could only build one building on your land, but you still are going to build a serperate painting studio?
I love all of your pictures on the studio, and the idea of it - I just wanted to make sure what the deal is on it.
