this grey wood is really pretty
we need to find another material for the kitchen rather than wood. I like these morrocan tiles or the idea of having sheet rock that looks like natural pieces of rock. Or just cement. don't know
i would love to have this wood throughout, but i have the feeling it would be super expensive. we will see. We are both leaning more towards the thick, beat down planks of wood. I really like this picture because it has rustic, yet the molding is so pretty.
I'm thinking we will use cement throughout the studio.
****** favorites these are adams favorite floors. I love how beat down they look. the more beat, the better. Also love the white walls and beat wood beams.

I think for the floors the best way to find what's available for the cheapest is to check around in Idaho locally. Once we know our square footages then we'll be able to take that number and find what's available.
perfect.. especially because sandpoint is a lumber export
that grey wood is really cool too
I really like the look of the grey washed out wood too.
The ceiling in the place above may be a better way to approach your ceiling, even if we add more beams and things. Then we could always paint over it to make it look older. sounds good
I also like this small wood plank cieling above. The simplicity of it is nice. Maybe we can have areas with both? or planks of wood painted like below
This one (below) looks a little more realistic too. Not the scale, but the construction.
love the simple light fixture
I
I don't know what would be better or cheaper, to have the big wood planks throughout the whole house, or a smaller version of the planks above for some smaller rooms

So many beautiful images. You do good work.
Here's the thing about all of the exposed beams and such; I totally agree they're really nice exposed, especially with the clean and modern furniture, like rustic and pretty too. Those old beams are there to expose because they are old houses though. Building with old beams is almost imposible since they aren't as strong. What you would have to do is build with new materials, then cover them and add the old beams and stuff as decorative elements.
So. . . don't be sad, because we can come up with a solution. Instead of old beams on the ceilings and things, we could (as you suggested, use reclaimed wood for the flooring since it isn't what's going to be holding your house up it can be old/antiqueish -
Then we'll have the walls and ceiling be clean and new. Does that make sence??
You should definately still ask on it, it can be done - but I think it's going to be more money than it's worth for you guys to put in old beams.
Yet, there may be some places we could still use them - just not the entire structure of the house.
